Glenn Smith is based in Chelsea. He started working with early English oak furniture in 1980; then to late 17th to early 18th century English walnut followed by mid 18th century classic English mahogany. He later expanded his work into fine French furniture from the 17th to mid 20th century, while living in France with his family. He is experienced in timber preparation, traditional finishing and handmade furniture construction.

With almost 40 years’ experience in the restoration business utilising various techniques including French polishing, Atelier Smith’s clientel now ranges from quality antique dealers to mid-century modern collectors and private clients.

Moving to France in 1992 he established his own business by 1995, dealing with antique dealers, interior designers and local private clientel. On returning to London in 2011, he continued his business in West London. Glenn Smith has been procuring and sourcing furniture for clients and exhibiting in antique and interior fairs, with success.
